The Governors are dedicated to ensuring children get the best learning experience at Epsom Primary School & Children’s Centre by:

Contributing to & fully supporting the school vision & strategy to ensure the school has a long term commitment to improvement.

Ensuring financial stability, including the effective and efficient management of resources as a means of learning & enjoyment in a modern environment.

Monitoring & evaluating the educational progress of the school.

Supporting & challenging the Head Teacher to provide a safe and enriching environment for all children.

Ensuring the appropriate response to OFSTED outcomes regarding school governance.

Ensuring all governors have the necessary skills to meet their obligations to the school.

Listening and responding to the voices of the children, parents, teachers & local community to ensure the school strategy remains on track.

Committee Remit
Some of the responsibilities of the governing body have been delegated to committees whose strategic objectives are as follows:
Resources committee
To ensure the financial stability of the School and Children’s Centre, including the effective and efficient management of financial resources such as Pupil Premium funding. This will lead to the excellent deployment of staff and resources to the benefit of all pupil groups.
Curriculum and Achievement committee
To hold the headteacher to account by monitoring and challenging of data and other evidence to ensure that all pupils fulfil their capability and potential by making rapid and sustained progress throughout all year groups from their baseline across the curriculum including English and Maths with the ultimate aim of all children achieving their individual attainment and progress goals.
Children, Families and Community
To ensure the school knows the families it serves well and has effective and robust systems in place to ensure good attendance and engagement which will have a positive impact on the well being of all stakeholders.
